Whether you’re using YouTube to share moments with your friends and followers or to embed videos in a PowerPoint presentation, there are a few steps you need to take to ensure your videos are uploaded properly. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to upload videos to YouTube.
Uploading Your Videos
Before you upload a video, you’ll need a YouTube account. It’s recommended that you change the video aspect ratio to 16:9 before uploading, but YouTube will automatically adjust your video without stretching or cropping. After you set up an account and sign in, here are the steps to upload your videos:
- Click Upload at the top of the page
- Choose Upload video
- Review the privacy settings for your video
- Choose a video from your computer or Google Photos
- Edit the information, such as the title, subscriber details, basic information and monetization settings
- Select Publish to complete the process
Simply uploading a video isn’t enough to allow your friends, family and subscribers to find your video on YouTube. First, you’ll have to make sure the privacy settings are correct. There are three basic privacy settings that you can choose for your YouTube video:
Once you’ve listed a video, you can always change the privacy settings as needed. Public allows anyone to search for your video. Private videos are only visible with the proper link. Unlisted videos are unavailable to anyone but the account that created the video.
Embedding Your YouTube Videos
Once a video is successfully uploaded to YouTube, you can then embed it in PowerPoint or other presentation and multimedia software. This allows you to choose dynamic ways to use your content, whether it’s shared publicly or kept as a private listing on YouTube.
