How To Find Images for Logos

Getting ready to start your own business? If so, you’ll need to come up with a logo design (among many other things!) If you don’t have previous design experience, creating your own logo from scratch might seem like an insurmountable task. Fortunately, you don’t have to do it on your own. Finding images for logos online is easier than you think, as long as you know where to look.
Hire a Graphic Designer
Finding images for logos online is surprisingly easy. There are many graphic design companies that create logos for businesses of all types, so you just need to search for them. In most cases, you’ll need to fill out some sort of preliminary questionnaire so the designer has a general idea of what you want your logo to look like. Depending on who you hire, you might also need to pay at least a portion of the logo design cost up-front.
Purchase Pre-Designed Logos
There are some websites that allow you to purchase pre-designed logos from a stockpile of unique designs. This might be a good idea if you don’t have a very specific vision in mind for your logo and would rather shop around to find something that already exists. Just make sure the logo you choose is a good fit for your company and makes sense conceptually.
Use Stock Images for Logos
If you’re thinking about choosing a logo from Shutterstock’s impressive compilation of royalty-free images, there are some things you should know first. Shutterstock’s Terms of Service do not allow stock photos or vectors to be used in trademarks or as full or partial logos, unless you purchase an exclusive license. Unlike our Standard and Enhanced Licenses, our exclusive license gives you exclusive rights to an image. Once you own the rights to an image, you can use it as a trademark or logo.
Keep in mind that the artist who created the original image must be willing to sell the copyright for his or her work before you can obtain an exclusive license for it. You should also be aware that your exclusive license cannot negate royalty-free licenses previously obtained by other Shutterstock users for the same image.
