Can I use Images on Facebook and other social sites?

You can use Shutterstock content on social media websites, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, blogs and newsletters. With most social media, users agree to their Terms of Service. Those typically state that by uploading images, users agree to allow the sites to publish uploaded images globally and in perpetuity, which is allowed by the Shutterstock license.

What’s not allowed?

  • Displaying Shutterstock images at a size greater than the intended device’s resolution

  • Using Shutterstock content on sites that claim ownership of the content

  • Any use that contradicts terms of the Shutterstock license--for example offensive or deceptive use of images of models, claiming authorship of the images, etc.
