Can I acquire usage rights to a photo/video of myself that’s available on Shutterstock?

If you find an image or video of yourself that is available on Shutterstock and would like to use it (even for strictly personal use), you’ll need to license the content in accordance with its intended use. This is because Shutterstock does not own the copyright to the content - the copyright to the content is owned by the contributor, and so we cannot give away this content, even if you’re the subject of it. If you’re able to, we recommend contacting the contributor directly to acquire permission to use the content at hand.
