A tugboat and barge heads upstream on the sparkling waters of the Columbia River near Arlington, Ore. Lewiston, Idaho, port officials announced, that container traffic at the Port of Lewiston in northern Idaho will resume after being suspended for nearly six months and the Northwest Container Services and transport company Tidewater will begin using a new route in December, 2015. In April, 2015, container traffic came to a halt after shipper Hapag-Lloyd stopped calling on the Port of Portland. The new route will go by barge to the Port of Morrow, Ore., and containers will then shift to rail to travel to western Washington, which will allow exports to be transferred to ocean-going ships
