German sea rescuers saved 350 lives in 2019, Cuxhaven, Germany - 14 Jan 2020

The new ambassador of German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (GDzRS), Radio presenter Anke Harnack, in Cuxhaven, northern Germany, 14 January 2020. According to reports, German sea rescuers saved more than 350 lives at sea during 2,140 operations in 2019. Since its foundation in 1865, more than 85,000 lives were saved by the DGzRS in the German Bight and on the Baltic Sea.
