Great pictures build powerful connections.

Now Facebook, the world’s most popular social network, and Shutterstock, the world leader in stock image downloads, are working together to give Facebook advertisers seamless access to a breathtaking selection of high-quality images.

As part of a collaboration announced today, Facebook advertising customers will be able to choose from over 25 million Shutterstock images to use in their Facebook ads. Facebook’s updates to its advertising tools make it easier than ever for marketers to discover and test compelling images that connect with their audiences.

Here’s how it works: Shutterstock will be integrated directly into the Facebook ad creation tool, where advertisers will be able to test multiple images—including their own photos, visuals from their previous ads, and professional stock images from Shutterstock—across Facebook’s mobile and desktop advertising products. Shutterstock, with its best-in-class API and accurate search technology, is a natural fit to support this innovative service. Facebook is offering the images to advertisers at no additional cost, and each time a Facebook advertiser licenses a Shutterstock image the Shutterstock artist will earn a royalty.

“Shutterstock has consistently developed innovative ways for contributors like me to reach new audiences. This relationship is another exciting example of how Shutterstock is expanding the market for my images.”

— Chris Halloran, Irvine, California Shutterstock Contributor Since 2007

Facebook advertisers will begin seeing the option to use Shutterstock images gradually over the next few weeks.

Our new collaboration with Facebook represents another way that Shutterstock is using digital images to bring people together, make marketing communication easier and more effective, and develop new revenue opportunities for artists around the world.
