The creatives at Barcelona-based Studio Ingrid Picanyol designed a youth-focused brand identity for Jaume Jordà.
Tasked with creating a brand identity for a range of affordable wines targeted at a 20-something audience, the result is one of the prettiest wine labels we’ve seen in a long time.
2. Vineoh! by Design Ranch
In line with the mailbox order trend for the Instagram generation, Design Ranch put together this retro-infused brand identity for Vineoh!, a quarterly wine subscription box.
3. Motif Fine Art Wine by EN GARDE
In line with a move towards maximalist design across the board, these ultra-colorful, patterned label designs for Motif wine by Austrian design agency EN GARDE are perfectly pitched for the short attention spans of Instagram browsers.
Intended as six different wines from the Muster Gamlitz winery, each bottle features a different graphic pattern across the whole facing label—a high-impact result that would look as good online as on the shelf.

4. Agrohub Winery by BRID Studio
Inspired by the old farmhouses that often overlook vineyards in Georgia, from where the wines are sourced, Georgian agency BRID Studio created a thoughtful and elegant identity for Agrohub Winery.
5. Kavaklidere by Hilal Topkaraoğlu
This beautiful, old-fashioned set of label designs for four different wines was conceived by Istanbul-based designer Hilal Topkaraoğlu.
Making use of simple line-drawn portraits and handwritten text, each label feels truly personalized and unique.

Spanish artist and illustrator CranioDsgn created this gorgeously illustrated set of labels for the Trinchero Family Estates winery in the Napa Valley.

8. Oro do Sil by Barbara Gonzalez, Lucía Eirea, and Lina Yucumá
For this collaborative project by Barbara Gonzalez, Lucía Eirea, and Lina Yucumá, of the ELISAVA School of Design and Engineering in Barcelona, the team of designers looked to gold foil to bring an ultra-luxurious edge to their label design for Oro do Sil wine (meaning “gold of the Sil,” referring to the river that flows though Galicia in the Northeast of Spain).
By applying the foiling design haphazardly, the result mimics the look of traditional gilding. An extra artistic flourish is in allowing the foil to “spill” past the edges of the label, giving the design an artisanal, hand-crafted look.
9. 30th Century Opera by Creative Carbon Studio
The metallic foiling on the central logo and geometric detailing on the label, which was created using Adobe Illustrator, are matched by the ornate style of the bespoke bottle, which was designed using 3D software, Foundry MODO.
10. Zweigelt – Blauer Portugieser Rotwein by Explicit Design Studio
Budapest-based agency Explicit successfully combines old-world elements with contemporary style in the wine label designs for this traditional Blue Port or Oporto wine (a drink known abroad as Portugieser or Blauer Portugieser).
The wavy die-cut edges match the distorted, blurry oil painting design. Large-scale serif typography completes the old-meets-new style.
Larger Than Life Label Designs
Wine labels don’t have to be two-dimensional. These designs explore the concept of a wine label in a more sculptural form, with collage effects and quirky 3D packaging aiming to catch the eye.
11. Figula Mihály Winery by Cecília Pletser
It’s arguably not the most efficient and budget-friendly wine label around, but certainly one that stands out effectively on a crowded shelf.
12. Fish Club Wine by Backbone Branding
Quirky and witty, Backbone Branding created these fish-themed packaging designs specially for the house wine offered by a seafood restaurant.
Each type of wine—red, rose, and white—features a particular fish that matches well with the particular blend.
The designers used a special printing technique to mimic the look of fish scales on mirror-metallic papers. These are then hand-wrapped over the bottle and twisted gently to create the fish tail at the top.

Cleverly executed Photoshop techniques can achieve a 3D effect on packaging without the need for physical 3D elements.

14. “Point After Point” by Brandon Oltman
These limited edition wine bottles were created by designer Brandon Oltman for Cargill’s Empyreal 75, an all-natural, highly digestible protein concentrate for dog and cat diets.
Connecting the idea of red wine to pets was certainly a challenge. But the designer created a fun and memorable concept by attaching a white pencil to each bottle and inviting the consumer to connect the dots on the label design, creating a complete cat or dog silhouette, as a result.
15. TA TE TI by Estudio Iuvaro
This quirky and stylish label design by Argentinian creatives Estudio Iuvaro expands on the idea of togetherness and party games.
Created as a limited-edition design to celebrate the studio’s anniversary, the 3D tic-tack-toe design is simple and effective as a graphic statement.
The metallic game pieces add an irresistible tactile element to the label.

16. Paper Boy by Truett-Hurst Inc.
Every digital design once began on paper, yes? Wine-not translate this design literally by, well, keeping the paper?
This wine label design was a first for the U.S. and has supported the eco-friendly, on-the-go demographic with recycled paper wrapping.
For a company that sold a quarter million bottles in 60 days, it’s safe to conclude wine labels do matter.
17. Helvetica Wine by Max Miedinger and Edouard Hoffmann
Ah, finally! A wine that brings font personalities to life. Ultimately, quality wine is reflected in the experience it provides. And, no, that doesn’t just mean inebriation. While all wines do that, we’re looking for more tangible ways to differentiate one from another.
Beyond dry, sweet, floral, or warm, what’s the personality? If this wine was a friend, how would it behave? More-so, how does this wine make you feel when you drink it?
All of these questions should be answerable within a couple sips. Deeming Helvetica the “king of fonts” (and we’d agree), this wine label offers a classy experience inside and out.
18. Vino by Stefano Borella
The easiest way to design a unique wine label? Hire an illustrator or designer to illuminate the experience of drinking it.
While the previous wine uses pre-designed fonts to play on personality, this one uses hand-drawn design to create a personality.
While people discourage judging books by their covers, everyone does anyway. And, for good reason! With 65% of the population being visual learners, first-impressions might be someone’s only impression.
Same goes for wine. Nuanced drawings like this one prompt intrigue, mystery, complexity, and interest. Make it count!
19. Inspired Wine by Gregoriodesign
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, yes? If you’re an artist who’s inspired by other artists, why not use your muse in a wine design label? Similar concept to the above examples, you want some idea to anchor your influence.
That way, others who resonate with the work of Jackson Pollack, Picasso, and the like, have some sense of what lives inside these bottles.
Creating a positive experience for consumers is the tell-tale sign of success. Making people ask themselves, How does this pinot imitate Andy Warhol? is exactly the mission of this wine label concept.

20. Manolis by Tartcomvin
Modern wines have gotten increasingly wild and wacky as societal trends change. Use hot, new topics to your advantage.
In Create, simply click the Change color button inside the tool to peruse your hex-code heaven. Then, once you land on your preferred red and white (or green, in this case), you can use the Eyedropper tool to match other design elements with those colors.
In other words, instead of having to search for that same hex code over and over again, simply click on the layer you want to match, click the Eyedropper tool in the Change color panel, then drag it over the selected layer.
Watch instant magic occur. Done!
Use Create to Craft Your Own Wine Label
The standard wine label size you’ll need is 3.5″ x 4″, or 1050 x 1200 px. To find it in Create, simply click File > Create new > Blank Canvas.
In the Create custom toolbar, type in these specs and click Make it!
If you need a different size for extra-large bottles, simply use a different blank canvas from the Print Sizes section or type in those specs to the Create custom toolbar.
From here, some quick customization steps:
- Select a background color, gradient, image, or texture from the Change color, Images, or Textures tabs. Whichever you choose, adjust intensity and click to apply.
- Add effects and text. Adjust typography, spacing, and sizing accordingly.
- When you’re ready, click Download to select file format options: PNG, JPEG, or PDF. Download to desktop and get ready to print.
If you need assistance printing, consider consulting a local print shop for bulk orders. And, to account for bleed marks, click the Settings (gear) icon on the bottle and toggle on “Show bleed marks.”
Otherwise, print the label as-is and get ready to sell!
Don’t be afraid to go bold with your design concept. Whatever your inspiration, make it known. Take one element to start from, then layer on the others.
