Not long ago, we asked Shutterstock subscribers to share some of their favorite design work they produced using our images. Our latest Superstar is
Dimitra Tzanos, a freelance graphic designer living in Athens, Greece.
Dimitra's work showcased below stems from her project for Kozi's, an African-inspired restaurant in Athens.
Dimitra: I've only just started working on my own projects after some time away. So being a little overwhelmed as to where to start, Shutterstock provided me with a great variety of material to begin creating these compositions. The huge collection of photos and silhouettes were very inspiring and visually stimulating.
Dimitra: Once these compositions were ready, Kozi's became the ideal platform to make the most of them. Vectors allow a designer to concentrate primarily on form, fragmenting this form, combining it with others, and then create illusions between the foreground and background. The work is somehow "forced" to be clean, and any excess information gets eliminated. This can be tricky at times, but can create some interesting results. Combined, all of these aspects make working with vectors quite interesting.
Dimitra: I love that Shutterstock provides high quality, detailed, yet simplified vector images, and of course I appreciate the great job done by the designers who have created them.
Dimitra: Although I've decided to create my own vector forms from scratch on current and future projects, I've learned a lot from this process… and needless to say, Shutterstock still remains a great platform of resources for me. Hopefully I'll be sharing my vector forms for other designers to use too soon.
