Finding Images Effectively, Part 2
Shutterstock is committed to providing you with an endless (okay, not really endless – but over 6.5 million and rapidly growing isn‘t bad) supply of premium images. It all begins with how you search. Unless you‘re simply browsing Shutterstock for ideas or inspiration, the odds are you want to find the image(s) you need as quickly as possible. This article will help you with this. In Part 1 of Finding Images Effectively, we examined how Shutterstock‘s search features can benefit you. This article will provide some helpful tips to help you refine your search.
Activate Mouseover Image Previews. This can be a great time-saver when you need to gather images quickly and viewing the thumbnail doesn‘t provide enough of the image‘s detail. Examine your Recent Searches. Use this convenient option to keep track of the terms you‘ve already used to search. This can come in handy when the words you use have multiple meanings, such as fly, by helping you determine which terms return the best results. Experiment with related search terms. Suppose you need photos of people sleeping. You might enter the terms sleep, slumber, nap, and rest. You can also enter all of these terms at once. This helps filter out what might only be partially applicable to what you‘re looking for.
Whether you‘re on a tight deadline or you‘re just a perfectionist, these tips should help you attain improved search results.
