Shutterstock serves customers all over the world, and we need creative images with global appeal. We have a demand for stock images that show text—such as signs and forms—in all major languages.
This poses a challenge, since we can only approve images containing text if we know what the words say.
Recently, we instructed our reviewers to begin approving more images with international text, as long as the contributor has included a note explaining all non-English text depicted in an image.
What this means for you:
1. As a contributor, please feel free to submit good, usable images that include non-English text in the image. The images you see in this post are good examples. Don’t copy these examples, but get creative with concepts/themes that may be of value in your own language.
2. When you submit images that include non-English text, please include a note to our review team, in English, explaining what the words mean.
With your help, we’ll be able to make more images from around the world available to customers.

Same would be fine for the one or other keyword that is difficult to translate or get then another meaning, also some local names (especially traditional celebrations etc) are not translatable or maybe are then not found by local customers.
Good idea, but I am only counting to nine languages (on this page seven). Why does it say “all”?
There are over 200 active languages in the World and Google Translate works with over 60 languages.
just to clarify — when you say all — do you mean ALL or do you mean those listed on the image?

What so big deal about Russian, do you have any buyers from there? I don’t think so.
You’ll be surprised how many clients from exUSSR buy images on stocks. As well as contributors.

I sold an image in Russia just today. They must have invented the press this year (ironic – why should Russians not use Shutterstock?). I think it’s a good oppertunity.
Russian little uses ShutterStock, because that they often download free images from the Internet. Sometimes not having the right to use them … Or uses photobanks with a more appropriate content for the Russian-speaking people such as Lori.ru. But over time, this situation will change, I think.

One problem with this.. I think the most important words of the image should be in the keyword in the non-english language. But the keyword system doesn’t handle letters like ä á é ö ü … which are important in some languages.
