At Shutterstock, we learn about customer needs by running site tests. You may have noticed some recent changes to our site that are the results of tests, so we thought it would be helpful to share a few facts about our approach.
In a typical test, we make an update to our site, show the new version to a small percentage of our visitors, and see if it makes customers more likely to make a purchase or download a file. When a test works, we incorporate the update into our site for everyone.
Right now our testing is focused on two main areas: Revised image plans for customers and updates to our user interface, including our search engine. (For your earnings rate on test products, please see the line on your earnings schedule labeled, “Images – On Demand ‘Any Size’ and Test Products.”)
While we don’t announce tests, we will tell you about any major change that we decide to launch. All our efforts are aimed at generating more earnings for you by serving our customers better.
Please keep creating great images and footage clips, and we will keep finding innovative ways to deliver your content to customers.
