Founder, Chairman and CEO
Jon founded Shutterstock in 2003 with thousands of his own digital photographs. A serial entrepreneur, he recognized the need for licensable images at an affordable cost and created the first global subscription image marketplace. Since then, Shutterstock has grown into a portfolio of brands serving businesses, marketing agencies and media organizations around the world with all the creative and editorial assets needed. Jon holds an MS in Computer Science from Columbia University and a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from The State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Chief Financial Officer
Steven is the Chief Financial Officer of Shutterstock. Steven is helping drive the strategic vision of the company, while leading the company’s financial and legal functions. Steven has nearly 30 years experience in global financial management, acquisitions, and business operations, including as Chief Financial Officer at the Tribune Media Company, a television and digital media company, and Revlon, a worldwide cosmetic and beauty products company. Berns is a Certified Public Accountant and received a B.S. from Lehigh University and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York.
Chief Product Officer
As Shutterstock's first Chief Product Officer, Catherine is responsible for leading the Company's overall product strategy and innovation roadmap. Catherine has expertise in creating global subscription products that delight customers and are easy to use regardless of platform or device. Most recently, Catherine was the Chief Product Officer at Weight Watchers, where she oversaw product, user-interface and design, as well as content and consumer analytics teams. Ms. Ulrich graduated from Harvard College with a BA in Engineering Sciences.
Chief Information Officer
As Chief Information Officer, David oversees Shutterstock’s data, infrastructure, IT and security teams, while working collaboratively with the engineering team. David joined Shutterstock with over 25 years of technology experience focused on security and infrastructure. He previously worked at Tribune Media where he was SVP and CIO overseeing the split of the technology & application portfolio of the company into two separate stand-alone businesses. Prior to this, David was SVP and CIO at Revlon where he was responsible for globalizing the company’s infrastructure and deployed global standards and IT operations.
Chief Marketing Officer
Jeff Weiser joined Shutterstock as Chief Marketing Officer in June 2016. In this role, he is responsible for building global customer demand, identifying new revenue opportunities and increasing brand awareness. Jeff joined Shutterstock from Beachbody LLC (creators of P90X and Shakeology), where he oversaw Strategic Analysis, Database Marketing and Online Customer Acquisition, and was instrumental in driving annual revenue from $400 million to $1.2 billion over six years. Prior to Beachbody, Jeff held Strategy and Analytics roles at SGN (Social Gaming Network), MySpace and Yahoo! He received a B.A. in English from Yale University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Chief People Officer
Matthew joins Shutterstock as Chief People Officer, leading a global team to attract, develop, retain and grow the best talent in support of Shutterstock’s strategic vision and objectives. Prior to Shutterstock, Matthew was Head of Human Resources at GLG for 8 years and previously worked at Morgan Stanley as Executive Director of Human Resources. During his nine years at Morgan Stanley, Matthew held several roles in support of operations, technology, infrastructure and retail securities. Matthew earned a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from SUNY Albany, as well as a M.S. in HR Management from the New School University.
SVP, Enterprise Sales and Account Management
Nick joined Shutterstock in 2011 as VP of Sales and Account Management. In his current role as SVP of Enterprise Sales and Account Management, Nick leads Shutterstock’s global enterprise sales, customer service, and account management teams. Prior to joining Shutterstock, Nick was SVP of Sales at UGO Entertainment and Regional Sales Director at Vivendi Universal Entertainment. Nick graduated from Elon University in North Carolina with a degree in Corporate Communications.
SVP, Business Development
Ben joined Shutterstock in 2011 and is the SVP of Business Development, leading business strategy across multiple business units. Since joining Shutterstock Ben focused on building out emerging business units including footage and Bigstock, and most recently led the development of editorial through Shutterstock’s acquisition of Rex Features and content partnerships with PMC, BFA and AP. Prior to joining Shutterstock, Ben worked in Hong Kong and Bangkok as an investment banker and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Ben received his MBA from INSEAD in France.
Co-Founder & CEO, WebDAM
As CEO at WebDAM, Jody leads company strategy and product vision. She is an engineer at heart, having spent her career in software development and Bioinformatics at Celera Genomics, Applied Biosystems and Genentech. She has published more than 20 scientific articles and abstracts, co-authored the book ”Biological Database Modeling” and holds a patent in this area of research. Jody earned a B.S. in Molecular Genetics from Ohio State University and went on to complete a M.S. in Computer Science at San Francisco State University.
